Our History on Earth

Our History on Earth

A Poem by Scriptor

In the beginning there was a flash

A brilliant swirl of lavender and neon orange,

Of ocean blue and crystalline white.

Of this swirl a sphere formed,

Right next to Helios, A.K.A. Ra, A.K.A. Sol.

Water bubbled the surface

And green melted from the core.

When the first legged creature swam to land

It foraged from the lush gardens.

The molted green and sporadic flowering mist,

And the trees, which crept toward the atmosphere.

Decades dribbled on,

Passing the paradise

From one form of earth-wanderer

To the next.

From the jungles prowled

A most dangerous group of hunters,

And from the tips of their spears

To the jackets of their ammunition,

Mankind blinked into existence,

And split the atom.

And the world ended with a flash.
