Don't Let Me Waist It

Don't Let Me Waist It

A Poem by realmwriter

I wish I had a picture to paint
showing how graceful life can be.
Until I paint that picture my words will do.
I wish I had a picture of love
showing how great it makes life.
It's okay though, because I will always love you.
I wish I could be in more places than one
so I could be there with you.
Instead I am here, painting our future.
I wish I would have gotten it together yesterday
so I wouldn't  be patching it together now.
Now I'm just held together with a suture.
 I'm tired of wishing.
That's why I'm here.
I'm tired of seeing only darkness at the end of the tunnel.
That's why I'm here.
I'm tired of reaching into pockets, only to find lint at the bottom.
That's why I'm here.
Oh Lord God, lead my way,
so that I might not fall astray.
Bring to me a new light and a new hope,
so that I might not find the end of the rope.
Oh Lord God, Life is graceful and abundant.
Please, don't let me waist it!

Sometimes we are just that one moment too late.. and we suture away hoping to save something... This is well done with the way you show the want and need... and the wish for it to be..xo
