Shiver Under Sheets

Shiver Under Sheets

A Poem by realmwriter

 This vessel has been filled

With every thought that I have killed.

To the brim, I'm on the rimm

On the edge and sincking.

This ship has seen its wrecks

Distraught through many trecks.

Across the plain, into the rain

On the ocean limping.

This voyage has just begun

Riding the bullet of the smoking gun.

Grazed the cheek, Blood wept weak

I pulled the trigger crying.

My wind battered sail

Has left me chasing my tail

My mast has been broken

Lest left me one more token.

In the hour I devour

The vestige that left me bitter

Their slap of snarls and sneers

Yet I walk strong to wipe no tears.

These streets they are not friendly

Cold and lonely, weary in the night

Tossed and turned I'm vacant burned

So I retreat, shivering under sheets.
