We Are, Supposed to CryA Poem by realmwriter
We aren't supposed to cry.
It's weakness leaving the eye. But what are tears for, If not to make one stronger? You're a man. Chin up. Crying is for babies and women. Ha, Ha, look at him, sissy. We aren't supposed to cry. We, are to be strong, Have no feeling, show no pain. We are not superman and We aren't supposed to cry. We shouldn't show weakness. Somehow that makes us less. Then who are we, women? We aren't supposed to cry. Don't show how vulnerable we really are. If you must cry, do it alone but don't come out of the closet. Then they will point and judge, label you gay. But we are men and we aren't supposed to cry. On the contrary, let the tears flow. We need them, to rid ourselves the hurt. To keep from becoming stark raving madmen. But we aren't supposed to cry. We are human, there by, flawed. We get hurt, same as children. We feel pain, same as women. But we aren't supposed to cry. No more hide behind, your bricks and mortar. Suck it up no more, nor bottle it in. Pretend not that the pain doesn't hurt. But we are men and we aren't supposed to cry. We hurt, feel pain, have broken hearts, we need to mend. So let the tears come, let your fears flow out. Let the bottle be broken and all the walls fall. We are men and we are supposed to cry. © 2011 realmwriterReviews
