Rip Away the Words

Rip Away the Words

A Poem by realmwriter

I am my own slave

Not yours, my own

I take the lash for no other

Yet I feel its sting just the same

Wandering around inside of me,

Every little incessant word ripping at my flesh

Jumbled and jostled inside of my mind

Every little nuance from whence I find no reprieve

I hope to inscribe upon this screen

Every little piece of perplexion wrought

Dare I try to wait out the tide

Dare I hide from torrential tombs

I go where no word has gone

Finding it feeble to resist the write

I am enslaved by words that in me decay

I am my own slave, so to paper and pen I stay.

Amazing write. There is so much truth to these words, and I love the imagery that you have created with them.
