Thank You My DaughterA Poem by realmwriter If I could fix the trangressions of my youth to save my Daughter from making the same mistakes that I once did I would hop head first on that train and ride it to the end.
I walked her into her classrom just a day or so ago, and I stood there a proud father as I watched her happily go.
I turned and walked away as a tear began to fall, and just as I was walking out the door I heard my Daughters call.
I love you daddy, was all she said, and so the flood began. I cried that day for I knew that she had made me a better man.
So to her I say; Thank You for you have done more for your old man than I can ever express. I just hope that I deserve the love you give and to you I don't transgress. © 2011 realmwriter |
