Catch the Hunter

Catch the Hunter

A Poem by realmwriter
"

I was sleep deprived when I wrote this piece, as I am when I do most of my writing.

"
By myself, alone and wide awake.
Eyes half closed, head anod, not so far from sleep.
Wandering half in, fighting now, I'm not really that asleep.
Dreary land, not a peep, hear nothing but the clock.
Ticking in, fading out, time begins to creep.
Laying still, sinking down, fading in the sheets.
Wandering eye, peeping eye, frantic in its search.
Finding in, finding out, prying is its gaze.
Fading in, Fading out, searching through the haze.
Keen the sent, quick the smell, frantic for the prey.
Off the hunt, fast the foe, weaving through hands ticks.
Hand moves one, hand moves two, too bad four simple tricks.

You do have some grammar issues throughout your writings, although not a big deal really, they can affect the flow of reading. Besides that, I really like this poem. You've written an accurate description of a sleepless night; I can sense that half awake, half asleep, wholly dead to the world feeling of a drifting sleeper within the words. I love how you describe the enemy- the clock. This is an interesting piece.
