Write about embracing the joys in your every day now.

The little things

Like the color of my coffee cup

The warmth of it filled, nestled in my hands

 

Something bigger than all of life

The embrace of four little arms

Two loving little faces

 

Something so miniscule

But as grand as grains of sand

The little ant, scurrying across the pavement

 

The grand things

The interconnectedness of every day

The little things that matter too

 

A computer, at a library

In a little town in Arkansas

Breath in, breath out, just live. 

 

Embrace ever day

Because it's a new day

On the right side of the dirt

 

A hat, to shade my eyes from the sun

To protect my balding head

To give me something to enjoy

 

A smile as warm as the sun on my back

People just saying hello

All the little things I am unaware of

 

There are little pieces of joy in every day we are alive

My joy, comes today, to cut across the strife

We, the reading and the writing, we are on this side of the dirt today

 

We have another chance, to set right wrongs

To makes amends to those we have hurt

To say "I'm sorry" to those we love

 

Today is one more day to say "thank you"

One more day to say "I love you"

Today is one more day to cherish and embrace. Because today, you are alive.

I do believe I did. I am much more accustom to writing dark poetry. Though I experience joy and do indeed revel in it, I find it difficult to pen how I feel about it. Good Challenge. I would first have to come up with a good challenge for other writers. That in it self might be a challenge for me.

I don't think I saw that one. But, Jordan's challenge stipulates that you cannot name the color, nor should you're reviewers reveal it in specific terms. My poem, "Lost In Your Calidity" is my answer to Jordan's challenge.
