We Find Love

Ever waiting for us to find it.

 

A heart apart, torn asunder

The sting of something gone

 

You felt it once

You miss it now

 

But for all the pain of not having known it

we still find love

 

We fall in and out

We scream, break and shout

We curse the day we met

 

But for all the fear of having never shown it

we still find love

 

It knows nothing of the things for which we attend it

Love is blind to the pain for which we offend it

 

Love cannot feel the fear we impart upon it

But there it always is, in the heart and soul

 

Ever waiting for us to find it.

This is actually a very difficult topic, as it is for a lot of writers, for me to write about. Though I have known and do know, love. I am eluded by it's intricacies and sadly as well by the fallacies placed upon it by those who have been hurt and cannot separate the person of love interest from the act of being hurt. Do you mean by "shape" the overall shape of the words as they appear on the screen? Cause I kinda see the same thing, though I didn't consciously do that. I am happy that you liked it and thank you for taking the time to read and review it.

Yes that is what I mean ( : it seems to have take the same of a beautiful bottle with the first 5 lines as the stopper.. I love when that happens with poems and usually ( like in your case) it fits the content of you poem. My Pleasure to read your work !

This had me thinking of that adage that 'it's better to have lost in love than never loved at all'...never an adage I've believed in, but I found plenty of observations in this piece that I did believe in very much...this is a lovely assessment of the ongoing search for love that we all undergo, and yet, more often than not, we're better off just waiting for it to come to us, as excruciating as that wait can be at times...the final six lines were especially profound for me...you've offered a unique way of looking at these things which I enjoyed very much...this is the kind of thing I would have loved to write myself, definitely a favourite...awesome....
