Silver Spun Memories

Silver Spun Memories

A Poem by realmwriter

You take a petal as soft and delicate as a raindrop and you catch a tear in its fold

You let it drip off the edge of the petal as if it's cascading down your cheek,

carrying away your most dangerous of fear

You take a raindrop, as delicate and individual as a flake of snow

and you let it wash away the salt were the pain once flowed

A blade of grass as unique as a fingerprint and you curl your toes

while padding through a forest glen, letting go of yesterday and then

You find a leaf among the trees, a leaf that calls your name

as singular a leaf as the petal in the rain, however brief

You use the leaf to shade away the fray

Among the many blessings of natures beautiful way

you find yourself at peace, awaiting the beginning of a fresh new day

You stand, arms outstretched in a field as vast as time

unseen cottonwoods blowing daisysnow tufts across your delicate face

You run through the breeze as fast as the wind

finding the child buried in your heart

A singular perfect moment suspended in time, a memory of peace divine

There in your perfect day, lost in bliss, you fall fast to sleep

carried away on dreams and silver spun memories
