No Matter the Blood They Curled

 I let, my life get me down
I think, they must have it better
I take, a long look around
I think, I'll just let me drowned.

I swim against the current
Cause I'd rather make my own path
To choose least resistance
Is to be like water in my veins.

No matter the memory
Life will not be lived in vane
I am just a product
Of imagination down the drain.

Spit in the eye of societies since of right
Justice on a string eating dignity in the night
No place of solace weary for the rest
I am but a man, nothing more or no less.

Crawling in the liquid vapors of a stench
Smells of degrading around every bench
Sit and mock the people, the grunge at their feet
Watch as they pass and never loose a beet.

One simple miss step and bleed in me I'm thru
Drowning out the symptoms
Of a life meant not for you
Why are we dying when there's so much left to do?

I am not ashamed of the choices I have made
I have done wrong in the bed where I have laid
But I am ashamed of the government we named
Want them to lead us into games we maimed.

I let, these times take me under
I think, I must have this better
I take, everything for granted
I think, I'll just be a piece of granite.

Never let anything show what I have done to you
Never be the one to admit you got me thru
When all is said and done I am the with you
When all is said and over you'll be with me too.

I laughed at the notion, we have it all under control
Control is just an illusion to keep chaos under feet
So stand up in protest, fight what has gone wrong
Stop for a moment, though you think it will be long.

Take a look around you, is this what you see?
Question every action, every choice that you regret
Don't let them mold you into their cookie cutter world
You are your own man, no matter the blood they curled.

wow, i felt the bitterness, disappointment and anger in this one to my very core. i know exactly where this write originated, because i have been there, we discussed this, it is a triumph of the human spirit to rise above the depths and reclaim what is rightly yours...the point being though, that you have taken this malady of human suffering and made it a conscious entity with your clever and superbly strong writing skills. awesome work, realmwriter!

Sadly for me I have had to face a lot of adversity in my life and it has been, at times, very difficult for me to move past it. These poems are an attempt to heal myself and regain some control of my life. It is not constructive nor behooving of me to act out in unbecoming ways toward those who seek to help and guide me through this arduous journey of recovery from many a malady, so I write and it seems to help.
