Gasoline SkyA Poem by realmwriter
Looking into a gasoline sky, choking on the smog of the day.
Take no refuge where the broken die, live to choke another day. Ripples in time reflected in the muck and mire, only there is no light. Once again I dance in fever pitch, mocking that which flew the night. Leave me be, just let me die, let this awful place just go away. Don't want to fight, don't remember, what is here cannot stay. Into the night let go your whisper, speak to shadows to comfort pain. Take account of all you've lost, don't regret your death in vain. Never come from gas to light, the match that burned the night. Take from cities fear of flight, where were you at fathers fight. You say you came to pay respect, respect is too far beyond your reach. Trust no more in evil men and what they do, vanity is just beyond your breach. Suicide at the barrel of a forty five, no matter we are still alive. Never ending repetition of faith, went away just to deprive. Your soul is bleeding on the floor, can't take the misery, take no more. Stay away just for a while, come again into denial. Looking into a gasoline sky, choking on the smog of the day. Take no refuge where the broken die, live to choke another day. Ripples in time reflected in the muck and mire, only there is no light. Once again we dance in fever pitch, mocking that which flew the night. © 2013 realmwriterReviews
