Colors

A Poem by German Perez

Colors

brown reminds me of the earth,
reminds me of chocolate, caramel, wood.
brown reminds me of you,
reminds me of your eyes.

and so now i don’t like brown,
because brown, a color supposed to be neutral, became very bright,
bright with your image,
bright with the weight of your memory.

i used to get lost in your eyes,
now I get lost in brown.
hoping to make myself stronger, to the feeling of you.

red is not far behind,
but i was expecting this from red,
always the bad color, always the enemy, always present,
me and red used to be friends.

now it reminds me of your hair,
red became an ally to brown,
in this war of color against my head.

and though i fight to forget,
the colors persist, relentless,
then there is pink,
softer but no less haunting,
reminder of nothing but your room,
the room where i held you,
where you held me,
i wish i never knew the color of your walls,
wish i never slept on your bed, because now i can’t sleep out of it,
wish i never tasted your lips, because now I can’t survive without them,
who am I lying to, I loved every second of it,
I still do, and I probably still will forever.

even if on the day I first met you,
you would have told me how much it would have hurt, I might have said no,
but if you also showed me all of our memories, all the happiness, all the love, all the kisses, all the soft touches from your hands, all the laughs, all the walks through the parks, all the times you would look at me like I was the only one in the world,
I would say yes in every lifetime, in every universe, in every country, in every book, in every story, in every poem.
I would always say yes.

I Love that I got to taste your lips, now I know what I want to taste the rest of my life.

I Love that I got to sleep in your bed, because I know where I want to lay the rest of my life.

I Love that I got to see the color of your walls,
I Love Pink.
I Love Red.
I Love Brown.
They remind me of you,
and everyone knows,
I Love You.

The author exhibits an outstanding mastery of language, skillfully merging narrative techniques with deep thematic exploration. The integration of symbolism and imagery not only enriches the story but also encourages readers to explore its underlying meanings. The pacing is finely tuned, creating a narrative that builds tension effectively, while the character development remains complex and convincing.

I really liked the mingling of hate and love here. I think it really sent you on a journey while reading this. At first I thought it was going to be about heartbreak and losing somebody you love. But it was also about how because you loved that thing you can never truly hate it and those feelings can get so twisted still. It was really great work.

It was also just very unique. I loved the touch point of color being that thing that reminded you of her. Many of us have those things, and it’s always particularly hard when it’s a rather mundane thing (mundane to everyone else at least) like a color.

Thank you, it really was a journey to write this.
A small 1 yr baby boy doesnt know what he is doing, parents watch him and protect him? If they couldnt do anything God is watching everytime the baby boy who needs to be protected because he is innocent and the danger will get to know how much dangerous it is for a baby boy.
I remember childhood stories of Lord Krishna, khamsa gets prophecy that he will be killed by krishna for his evil nature, then he used to send demons, one of the demon was lady who took baby krishna to giv milk thinking she would kill baby boy with her poison, but she doesnt know the fact that the poison was nothing before baby boy that killed the lady demon.
Never my heart fears when i chant God name, he is powerful he will protect the innocent and evil gets killed by him,

This whole world is based on hope that God protects innocent and evil gets punished. Because without hope you will not know whats your fate as will never take a step ahead and sit where you are thinking you cant. But fate never lets you sit time never stops and you lose every second. What you need is hope if evil realises what you think and what you want that is the fate where you will see your loved else evil passes away either giving rain or just moves on like a cloud.

What stays is love a hope and god.

I dont know there is anything how people can be trained.

People loved many cared many but when they know what they need at the end which they think is there beginning everything supports you, seeing your beating heart caring mind loving soul for your beloved..

No one can take their love its greedy that you want what you dont deserve you are just being warned that you are with worth more and already fate gave you gives you what you deserve. Never spoil life just because it is with someone that why cant you have.for everything there is logic if you over smartly change numbers to tally balance sheet to prove logic, that profession says good bye to you that you are fit for what. Kindly there is nothing which can say or.prove God is evil because even if you prove with some change you can never go back to past that you can change it yea but either you hav acceptance of guilty and never do mistake again else if you cant then your effort leads to final unfit which God takes decision merging to whole.

Jessy Jacob.

. . .
(I hope you don't mind, I've stolen my favorite part.)

Reading this poem has given me a sick sense of remembrance- it seems you've managed to bottle up how missing someone feels and stuff it in this poem of the masses to enjoy. The way that even something little, a familiar red, a knowing brown, can make you feel something about someone you (hoped that you had) forgotten.

Please, keep writing! ;)
