This harboured love of ours

This harboured love of ours

A Poem by The Misplaced Poet

You’re like my drug addiction,
They say you are my hindrance,
Yet we show no sign of friction,

Perhaps I’m blinded by this feeling,
Scared to admit that it is love,
Which we’re concealing,

We’ll continue to pretend,
Lying to ourselves
That we are but a friend,

For we exist in an ugly reality,
That would decay what we share,
Without a scent of morality.
