Grammatical Issues With The Song "Timothy"A Poem by Sanders WallaceLove of English Juxtaposed With Worst Song Ever Written
Trapped in a mine what(should be "that") had caved in
And everyone knows(could be" everybody knew")the only ones left Were(not"was") Joe and me and Syn(should be "Joe,Syn and me"). When they broke through(not" threw") to pull us free The only ones left to tell were Joe and me(shouldn't it be" Joe and I" then again,I does not rhyme with free). Synonym,Antonym, where on earth did you go? Synonym,Antonym,God why don't I know?(it sounds like convenient amnesia). Hungry as hell(should use "heck" to be safe) no food to eat An(should be" And") Joe said he would sell his soul(sounds like Joe remembered) For just a piece of meat(in the end it sounded like an entire side). Water enough to drink for two(two excuses now) And Joe said to me,"I'll have a swig"(sounds like barely enough for two)And then there's some for you."(Not trying to be over critical, but how about smaller swigs for all three?) Synonym,Antonym,Joe was looking at you(and you weren't?) Synonym,Antomym,God what did we do?(both of you were looking at him and now he is gone, go figure). I must have blacked out just around then(about?) 'Cause(Because) the very next thing that I could tell(what about Joe?) Was the light of day again(implies they were not gone that long to be that hungry). My stomach was full as it could be(and Joe only wanted a piece of meat?) And nobody ever got around(implies no suspicion or if there ever was, poor investgative skills-ambiguous) To finding Synonym, Antonym...(this song implies they started with four but refers to only three, very confusing).
