Silvery RoadA Poem by Sanders WallaceLong and Winding Road
Winter maple shivers
Solitary and skeletal.
The foresaken do not perceive Any silvery road home. Frozen winds curse Their souls and homes. Their ice palaces become Crystal, only after sleep comes. Blue in khaki-clad, A thousand spectral stares, Danger is ever-present Here where all forget to care. But he began his thaw Before the boney tree, Independent of reason He saw silver... others did not see. © 2015 Sanders Wallace |
