Overland Park 4/13/14A Poem by abluehorseandflowersOverland Park More stabbings and shootings and death Though no armies are raising breastworks At a small town joyful Pearblossom Parade The causalities groaning are left afield The victims are pawns given up en passant Braving the fire some Nightingales venture While the rest of us watch shaking our heads But there’s no such thing I’m more than afraid Whether God is invoked or be set aside And we die and while briefly mourned © 2014 abluehorseandflowers |
