In a Harsh World

In a Harsh World

A Poem by abluehorseandflowers

In a Harsh World

In a harsh world
The message is terribly clear
It’s to capital that we’re bound

In a harsh world
We are target markets only
By the penny and by the pound

In a harsh world
There are children going hungry
With crops aplenty in the ground

In a harsh world
What seems to have been forgotten
Is that there’s a beautiful sound

In a harsh world
The soul searching music is soft
shhh … listen it’s all around

In a harsh world
The insistent urge to withdraw
Can be cripplingly profound

In a harsh world
More urgently we must sing
The coronation of Love crowned

In a harsh world
There’s always the final excuse
And it has ever been around…

It’s not my problem.
