An Evening

An Evening

A Poem by abluehorseandflowers

The first of three Titled "A Day"

An Evening

Setting sun

magenta

and Purple

orange too

The mountains

hazy shades

of light blue

a staircase

to the sky

The valley

air is cool

The river

brown and fast

Distant sounds

of traffic

the white noise

of the times

And gunshots

at a range

Geese in flight

they're honking

at the cars?

And a skunk

black and white

he waddles

by the road

Light fading

into night

Traffic sounds

seem closer

Twinkling stars

appearing

I go home
