Mirrors of GodA Poem by abluehorseandflowersInspired by Eckhart von Hockheim
“The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me; my eye and God's eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.” Meister Eckhart (Eckhart von Hochheim 1260-1327)
The body does only what it needs And we are unperturbed Mine and yours the expression Of the Divine and not the deeds
My eye through yours is how we know God When we reflect each other We're Mirrors of infinite love Before ourselves we stand awed
Until what we know is one vision Focused through eternal bliss I'm not me compared to you Surely a grace that's given
There becomes a silence but not a void And nothing's seen nor heard All sensation sublimates When sense of self is destroyed
Though not awareness when black is white And quiet is all sounds When distinctions disappear Blindness isn't lack of sight
Then we know all is One With no need of faith The stillness found in knowing God Is like basking in the sun
