Memories

Memories

A Poem by Scott A. Williams
"

A poem about neuroscience.

"
I recently read
that each of our memories
is destroyed
and rebuilt
inexactly
every time we call them up.

This,
I find somewhat comforting.
It means that what I remember
about you
probably isn't true.
Maybe you're just someone
I invented
when I was bored.
