Dead Air

Dead Air

A Poem by Scott A. Williams
"

Can't be explained

"
A whisper in the trees
and
she's down on her knees
and
I'm afraid to say
what
I've been up to today

She comes with the wind that blows
the
branches against my windows
with
the vaguest hint of potpourri
I
know she's here but not for me

Jumping in the creek
we
don't know what we seek
we
are here but not together
I'm
afraid, afraid forever.

I woke up in her bed
and
don't know what I said
but
I guess that I don't mind
'cause
she's gone deaf and blind
so
everything I say
is
lost on her anyway
and
everything I say
is
just dead air anyway.

I like how this poem unfolds it keeps the reader guessing till the end. Great use of imagery.
