Serenade

Serenade

A Poem by Scott Eckert

Can I just stare into the night sky?
Look at the star, no matter how far
See the twinkle in your brown eyes
Serenade her with the acoustic guitar.

Sing her a song of sweet passionate love
How my heart bled from her, every minute of the day
Asking questions; glancing to the Heaven, above
Playing the guitar in a bizarre mystical way.

Can she see my heartfelt emotions?
Will my song make her swoon?
Should I put more effort in my devotion?
Glancing into the distance; seeing a full moon.

I will sing this song until the end of time
My heart's words will waterfall
Not sure if the song will have rhythm or rhyme
I wander, I am enthral?

Will my voice crack, while I am singing?
I will still play; sing my heart out
When I am dancing, I will keep swinging
Let the soul out; give a big shout.

Can I just stare into the night sky?
Look at the star, no matter how far
See the twinkle in your brown eyes
Where I am is where you are.
