Kaleidoscope World

Kaleidoscope World

A Poem by JerryB

oh, he found the dark road
failing at every turn
his world took him by the hand
and wasted his flower of youth
he tasted
he drifted naked
among smoke-filled rooms
phony laughter
one night stands and warm bodies
with cold hearts
his unspoken thoughts

kept him seeking for the truth
eh . . .when truth was addressed
he ran and hid
though his road was dark and dangerous
somehow he managed to
steer the course
and now he is here
with a kaleidoscope world at his fingertips
he sheds no tears

though spears have pierced his soul
the dark road
was what made him who he is today
a man who
has found peace
and happiness
life does surprise us

I like this. It reminds me of my youth, how you grow up and realize that the world isn't what you expected it to be.

It's tragic, yet beautiful. We throw ourselves into these s****y situations but we learn from them and grow. It's kind of like that point in life between childhood and adulthood--everyone has to go there.

Thank you for sharing.
