Remember

Remember

A Poem by Angela

Jesus said come take my hand and

I will guide you to the promise land.

Read my word and do my will.

I have never forsaken you

and love you still.

Shout the good news from every port and pier!

Listen up close and lend me an ear.

My love is unconditional and will last forever;

Just put me first in all your endeavors.

Christ was here. He’s coming back again.

He’ll claim all who believe; every

woman, child and man.

Don’t you remember?

He gave up his life that fateful day

and sent a truly wonderful gift our way.

Why did he do it, non-believers cry!

What was he thinking? Why even try?

We, God’s children know why he died.

We his people tremble, give a peaceful sigh,

then proceed to tell them why.

Jesus made a sacred promise to all of us.

It’s in him, not the dollar, you should put your trust.

Times are a changing. The end is very near,

but true saints have nothing to fear.

Oh! Why won’t you remember?

You died for us O Blessed Lord.

You’re the solid rock and my shield;

Your Holy Bible is the sword.

We need to strive to be more like you,

but alas, dear God, we are but a few.

Easter is a special time to remember Jesus Christ

and his amazing, unselfish sacrifice.

Tell me where we would be

were it not for the grace of he?

Would we be able to stand proud and tall

if Jesus had decided to step down off that cross

and chosen not to be crucified at all?

Christ is risen and he lives in us.

Listen and remember.
