A Poem by Angela
"

For my daughter, Courtney

"

You've grown so much

just look at you

I still remember

when you were two

The times you fell

and scraped your knee

You cried so hard

and clung to me

For your third birthday

we hired a clown

So frightened were you

with such a big frown

Then you were ten

you left me then

To run and play and

find that special friend

Now you're sixteen

where did time go?

It went much too fast

wish it would slow

You grow so independent

with the passing day

You'll soon be old enough

to spread your wings

and fly away

I know you'll no longer

need me one day,

but if you ever do

Just know that I'm a

phone call away

always there for you.

Wherever you go

whatever you do

know that mom is here

and will forever love you.

i wish that thi s kind of love came from my mother towards me, but thats not my fortune. oh well, anyway, i love the feelings you portray for your daughter. it's very great. love is the greatest things anyone can have to hold onto. without it, death comes. this poem is very great.

I love this poem! I am very glad she is here with you, and it's all so bittersweet isn't it? I have a 20 yr. old son, and this truly spoke to my heart! Take care~~~

Great poem Angs, and it really shows how much you love your daughter. Mine turn six next week and I wish it would "slow" too. But I know that he soon he will be no longer daddy's little boy.

Good job, you do good at portraying emotion and the beauty around you.
