Apron StringsA Poem by AngelaFor my daughter, CourtneyYou've grown so much just look at you I still remember when you were two
The times you fell and scraped your knee You cried so hard and clung to me
For your third birthday we hired a clown So frightened were you with such a big frown
Then you were ten you left me then To run and play and find that special friend
Now you're sixteen where did time go? It went much too fast wish it would slow
You grow so independent with the passing day You'll soon be old enough to spread your wings and fly away
I know you'll no longer need me one day, but if you ever do Just know that I'm a phone call away always there for you.
Wherever you go whatever you do know that mom is here and will forever love you.
