And Then She Wasn't There

And Then She Wasn't There

A Poem by Sarah J Dhue
"

wrote for school, but i like it =]

"

I saw her at school

It was like any other day

But she looked so solemn

Oh so painfully sad

She told me the news

And my smile died too

She said she was moving far away

I tried to spend more time with her

But still the day came too soon

She packed up her things and was gone

There was emptiness

Deep inside me

A hollow cold place in my heart

Where once she had roamed

On days when it was sunny

For most

There was rain for me

Because she wasn’t there anymore

Roaming

She wasn’t there to talk

She wasn’t there to laugh

She wasn’t there to cry

She wasn’t where she’d always been

Close to me

The person most important to me

Was out of my reach

My best friend

This is something that felt really deep and personal for me. I had a friend of mine move across the country...and i havent talked to her in who knows how long. Very well written.

Aww, this is very sad, deep, and heartfelt.
