The Raven and The OwlA Poem by Sarah J DhueA raven flies overhead Carrying with it a feeling of dread The feelings of those past dead
I wonder why it flies here At this cold time of year But soon the meaning is clear
It's a reminder, a reminder that I can never die I can never fly And I still often find myself wondering 'why?'
Why did this happen to me? How could this have been meant to be? While in my ears echoes the owl's haunting melody
He often asks "who?" And I think I would too Seeing when I do what I do
During the darkest hour When once I used to cower Now is when I have my power
I am bound to the night The moon's milky white My only light
And as the raven flies overhead Carrying with it its feeling of dread I know I am dead © 2009 Sarah J DhueAuthor's Note
