Ode to Kettle Corn - The Soup Chef

A poem about one of my cats.

The water is cloudy once more

I dump it and rinse out the dish

When I put it back down

the water is clear and fresh

Not even an hour later I return

to see a softened puffy

piece of dry food floating

What flavor will it be this time?

Tuna, salmon, beef, or chicken?

Even turkey, perhaps!

The puffy ingredient floats, about to sink

at any moment

And would you look at that

if it isn’t a milk ring garnish

And here I thought I was the only one who was frequently changing the water! My one tabby loves to put his catnip mice in the water dish after he incessantly plays with it like a hockey puck. They are adorable, aren't they? Loved reading this and meeting you, Sarah!
