'Part 3: The Plane of Anguish' sneak peekA Chapter by Sarah J Dhuethe sneak peek for Part 3 of Demented“It… it ate
him!” Nigel cried after a moment, “It just… ate him.” “I don’t know if it ate him, but we need to get out of here
before another one of us disappears,” Dean turned and ran toward the
kitchen. Once they were inside, he
barred the door, sliding his sniper rifle through the handles. As Nate backed away from the door, a kitchen cabinet opened and
a man fell out. Tufts of blonde hair
were growing out of his stitched head.
He sat up, clutching his stomach with one hand and holding something in
the other. His wide blue eyes met
Nate’s. “William Redmoor,” Nate said quietly in shocked
recognition. His eyes drifted down to
William’s stomach. He appeared to have
an awful burnt abrasion, green pus mixed with blood seeping out around his
fingers, “Quick, get him up on the table!”
He knocked some pots and pans off of a counter and Dean helped him lift
him up onto it, “Nigel, see what you can find in the cabinets, a first aid kit
maybe.” He turned back to William,
“William, can you hear me?” William nodded, “Did you leave these
postcards?” He held up one of Dean’s
postcards from Paradise. William
nodded. Nate lowered the postcard and
went back to examining his festering burn. “I didn’t kill my wife,” William choked out. Nigel continued to rummage through cabinets but froze when he
spotted a mirror over the sink. “What?” Nate frowned, turning back to William’s face. “Find the priest,” he lifted his other hand, “He knows. He knows about the Doctor.” “The priest? Chaplain
Kennedy?” Dean asked eagerly. “Which Doctor?” Nate asked. William began to cry, “The one that touched my brain.” © 2015 Sarah J Dhue |
