Katie, A Singular Bug

Katie, A Singular Bug

A Poem by LSS
"

We all need a buzzing in our ears to keep us pointing in the right directions.

"

Katie, A Singular Bug

There’s many forms of Katie
   They’re chosen from the start
They’re all used for the self-less
And for the pure of heart.

Katorina for the Finnish,
   Katarina for the Greek,
The Irish love their Catlin,
   Katy’s all the Spanish speak

Now if you were a Russian,
Katya would be your sweet child
Even Poles would have to all agree,
Kassias bring us peace and smile.

Yet there’s one thing we are missing,
As we write about her fame.
There is more to Katie we can’t see,
   As beloved’s in her name.

But let us ever not forget,
That God has made her so.
Just like an insect, just a bug
   A Katy-Did we know.

Her chances for success and fame
There’s one thing she can do
She chirps out loudly in the night
Calling mates both one and two.

Together thru the long night hours
   They play their Godly rhyme,
And sing of katies all world thru
   They’re beloved all the time.

Larry, this is just so charming! What a fortunate granddaughter, to have her own poem composed for her! Now I have to rush off to Google to find out what the derivation of that name is, so I can better undrstand this lovely offering. Well done, my friend!

Some time ago, I decided to write a humorous short story to give my wife on our 25th anniversary. The words and illustrations seemed to flow from my memory and imagination, about those early days w.. more..
