The Laurel Tree

‘The Laurel Tree’

The Laurel Tree will always be
The symbol of your life to me
It stands alone thru tests of time
Like mountains not so hard to climb

I know that you have struggled, and
You’ve made a place where you can stand
To take your place in this vast world
To make your way, your flag unfurled

Yet God has His own plan for you
He wants your life, your will, your view
He always stands just out the door
Knocking so you will give Him more

So you have passed this challenge now
There’ll be still more, not when, but how
It’s growing in the Lord that lasts
That changes you till life has past

Now take a look at that old tree
Remember what you’ve meant to me
Remember that Christ died for you
Now’s your own turn to show what’s true.

SO:
A mate, perhaps too prideful to accept dominion by any one ("It stands alone...your flag unfurled..."), let alone Christ, who has just passed through a health crisis ("So you have passed this challenge now, there'll be still more, not when, but how..."), and whom you are in love reminding that there is more to life than establishing her reputation? (He always stands outside your door, Knocking so you will give him more").
This is what I get from this beautiful plea. If I am way off base, forgive me.
