Nobody 'Beeps' Unless There's A Problem.

Nobody 'Beeps' Unless There's A Problem.

A Poem by LSS
"

Dedicated to: Theresa, my sometime inspiration and often pain. A suspect co-worker (assuming we're on the same team or even the same page).

"

Hark!               An alarming sound!
A ‘Beep’!        Rumbles round and round.
A Cry!             “I’ve fallen to the ground?”
Moan?             Coming from that mound?

Hasten!            Hurry don’t delay!
Quicken!         What would make you stay?
Alert!               Don’t deter your way.
Speed!             There is need today.

Wait!               Let me think again.
Pause.              Is this rush a trend?
Stall.                What results portend?
Call.                 Someone else I’ll send.

Appraise.         What good if I bide?
Suppose.         I try, then someone died?
Discern.           From shallow fear I hide?
Decide.            Climb from this fence I ride?

Relent.             Break loose from iron band.
Go Back.         Time to reach with hand.
Dig In.             Its only leaves and sand.
Applaud.         Your feet walk tall this land.

Indecision is the most studied topic of the probing mind - I think.

You address with elegance and high humor all those exasperating little beeps and hoots we've so immersed ourselves in, which once were ostensibly for our convenience, but now have become our masters! Charming, Larry! (Whoops, there's the oven, but it'll have to wait until I take this call-forward...AAAAUGH!)

I love this flow, the structure is much like a french sonnet. It is sharp and clever.
Well thought out, with such an intriguing quality.
Kudos! :)

Love the R-H-Y-T-H-M and the humor. The first stanza kinda reminded me of my morning wake up routine. We've got my little sister screaming in the background about how late we'll be, my mother yelling at me to take care of my brother, me getting dressed and yelling to my sister to take care of my brother, and finally, the dog starts barking because of all the screaming. lol

This was very funny. I especially liked "climb from the fence I ride". It had such an urgency to it, but it really did leave the reader running in circles, which works well with your subject. Indecision is indeed a most studied topic....but noone can make up their mind about it. :)

A interesting write, Larry but then I have found most of your writing to be as such. :-) Is there a name for this? I have to agree with Samuel. I hate indecision also, but don't deal with it too much. Use to though. Great job! Carole

Loud applause. You put a lot of work and thought into this, Lar. Yeah, I hate indecision--it feels like gum stuck to my shoe.
