That Sigh!A Poem by LSSWe've all felt it. We've all used it. But what is it?
THAT SIGH! What’s in that sigh?
That very warm breath, That wind of the soul,
That song we’re made with? It breathes out our heart,
Our soul’s passion’s fire. It escapes with its cause,
It says I retire.
______________
Wind:
The wings on our cheek
They whisper and say, ‘Its going to be
A very fine day’.
It tells of the night,
The sun’s warming rays, The dampness of dew,
That’s coming our way. Exasperation:
Blown out with haste
Without any thought. We’re helpless to deal
With problems we’re fraught. We sigh, ‘Why to me’.
No answers to bring. It’s dragging me down,
This wind-laden thing. Contentment:
Her breath suddenly slows,
It pauses a bit.
Her muscles relax,
Our bodies now fit. I know it is coming,
Contentment at last,
Our lives now in union
All worries are past. Sorrow:
It’s too late to see
To change what is gone. What suffering was then?
A new life has spawn. Remembrance is left
Is now but a dream. The passion we need
Is gone it would seem. Frustration:
A man tied in knots
Cannot change his core, When pent up near anger
Has energy in store. He knows what to do
But can’t have his way He rots in that grave
Like most other days. Completion:
What rave, what elation,
What satisfied joy.
That overcomes tension
When done with employ. Mayhap it was timing
That ended all right. Perchance at the finish
We ended our fight. Regret:
No more are the chances
We’ve seen the last one. We could have done better
Might even had won.
Said often, “the last time
We’ll stop even now. Our courage did falter,
Our head now we bow. ______________
I’ve tried to remember
From days traveled by. Those moments we all share.
I laugh, till I sigh. We’ve everyone felt them
We’ve all shared this breath. One day we’ll be facing
Our last one in death.
