The Answer to Why

The Answer to Why

A Poem by LSS
"

The Unknown can be a fearful place.

"

The Whys we always ask Ourselves,

We really meant for God.

Our Anger and Frustration pent

We give but passing Nod.

We really don't want Answers yet

Afraid of Yes or No.

In case of something Awful there,

That waits for us to Know.

If We could See into His Mind,

The Past, the Now, the New.

A kind of Blindness would set in,

Like Mourners in a pew.

They only want to Change something,

To make Pain go Away.

They don't know What or Where or When,

They want some Peace to Stay.

We all of us are Mortal bent,

We will but live our days.

We cannot Change a single thing,

From what God has to say.

We like to think we'll Handle things,

To Change what's set in Stone.

But we're all just like passing wind

We Face our Fate alone.

There's No one else can take Our place,

Nor can We take of Theirs.

We each will stand before His Throne,

Our life is our affair.

The Answer to our question is,

To Wait upon the Lord.

To Trust the Ever Living One,

Bound up by Love's Strong Cord.

Lar

The Answer to Why'
LSS,
I understand your poem all to well.
Questions which are asked found unanswered.
The mystery is totally the reason.
We just don't know the why of so many things!
Your end passage is surly the perfect answer;
'The answer to our question is,
To wait upon the Lord.
To trust the Ever Living One,
Bound up by Love's Strong Cord.'
And;
'We all of us are Mortal bent,
We will but live our days.
We cannot Change a single thing,
From what God has to say.'
Thanks for this really cool write!
Blessings,
Kathy

Beautiful rhythm and rhyme here, Larry. You have said it all in your last stanza:

The Answer to our question is,

To Wait upon the Lord.

To Trust the Ever Living One,

Bound up by Love's Strong Cord.

You are amazingly talented, Larry. It is always a joy to read you. Blessings, Carole
