The Woman's Touch

The Woman's Touch

A Poem by LSS

The gentleness of voice and hand,

They don't belong to boy nor man.

The softest touch

On earth I've seen

Is from a woman's hand on me.

A nurse, a mother, a wife, a child.

They're all alike

They're calm not wild

They bring us life

and order too.

They soothe the world

Off set the cruel.

If I could bottle,

box, lid, or such

Then It would be the Woman's touch.

'The Woman's Touch'
The place-role of gender is a fascinating thing. For each is wonderful. In balance between man and woman within the home-how great. Your poem feels to me as if nurture of inner being, heart and identity is it's core. Of course my not being a male I find it a challenge to think from such a vantage point. All I can identify is what I have experienced or seen.
Nice words, these:
"A nurse, a mother, a wife, a child.
They're all alike
they're calm not wild
they bring us life
and order too.
they soothe the world
off set the cruel.
If I could bottle,
box, lid or such
then it would be the Woman's touch.
Very nice!

This is beautiful. It's so hard for men in general to appreciate and acknowledge that, just as men have their strong suits, women contain what cannot be found elsewhere. We are one with the universe, life, and love. This is a beautiful manifestation of such. Please, please keep writing! I hope you'll join my group -Women's Circle. It's a "feminist" circle that is open to absolutely everyone [inculding men] and celebrates exctly what you have worded in your poem - the beauty and divinity of women. Thank you for writing this. It is absolutely beautiful.
