What's Inside

What's Inside

A Poem by LSS

Complicated!

Overrated still

Not what's seen.

Couldn't be sought

Not even purchased.

Wouldn't it be dreaming?

Now that would be a stretch

Even for someone the likes of me.

I suspose if you tried you really can get

            Inside

Me and then you'd be one of the ones.

Oh yes there's too many people.

They only trying to keep up

They're on each street

Trying to reach out,

Wanting a piece;

Some desert,

Apple pie,

Frosting!

LSS
Its prettier than it sounds. I just wanted to see if I could stretch my poetry algebraically.

"What's inside"
LSS,
Inside; a secret place, separate world. Alone, we all carry this complexity.
Lovely is this essence of our being. Are we hidden? I wonder how much of what is hidden to others is really not? To God I know we are a open book.
Your poem brought a feeling of community with others in this world.
Thanks much for the beautiful writing!
Kathy

Some time ago, I decided to write a humorous short story to give my wife on our 25th anniversary. The words and illustrations seemed to flow from my memory and imagination, about those early days w.. more..
