Viva La Revolution!

Viva La Revolution!

A Poem by EChaps
"

While visiting Riga, Latvia, I saw some graffiti that said, "Viva La Revolution!" and was inspired. When I got home I did a bit of research on Latvia's history and wrote this.

"
Viva La Revolution!

Harsh walls stained harsh black fighting for harsh justice

Words flung like blood on the streets,

Memoirs of a bitter gray life
of mustaches and men
and smoke and steel

the protest is in the paint
the cobblestones
the concrete

Hearts laid bare;
an unrequited love for freedom sprayed on iron posts

smokestacks encased in a Tight Red Grip

Is it ever sunny here?

Liberty, waiting for her veil to be lifted, still stands

"For Fatherland and Freedom!" she shouts and we scream our approval as we lay our sorrows at her feet

I don't really have anyone else edit my poems, so they're all kind of word vomit. Go ahead and rip it apart.
