My GenerationA Poem by schnickythep
Too many times have I stood by
While you make a fool out of me All those things you thought were so funny Has made you someone it hurts to see We can talk about it all day long Or until the day we die But each pleasant word that leaves your mouth Will never be more than a lie What will you do when we all fall down And all the fingers point to you Cause when my generation is dead and gone There will be nothing left for you to do Do you have some kind of problem That makes you have to say "me first" If you only stopped and watched yourself You might see how you've been cursed Do you have to be superior Cause all you ever do Is separate yourself From the ones who still like you What will you do when we all fall down And all the fingers point to you Cause when my generation is dead and gone There will be nothing left for you to do For all the time I've known you You've tried to be the king And even though you're flying high I'm taking back my wings Do you notice our world crumbling Around the throne you built yourself Too proud to get off your high horse And run with seconds left Was the cost of any real friends Too steep for you to pay? Even though you say you have it all You're slowly turning gray What will you do when we all fall down And all the fingers point to you Cause when my generation is dead and gone There will be nothing left for you to do © 2012 schnickythep |
