Just another dayA Poem by Aishwarya Subramanian
Just a flower in
the rain Trampled by tears
of the clouds It stood up in
vain
Just the life of a
bird Crushed by an
arrow His cries were
never heard
Just a piece of
parchment Crumpled by hands
of wrath The humble tree
would never lament
Just a song so
beautiful It was never heard The tongue was
always truthful
Just a hand in the
fire It was never saved To live was the
man’s desire
Just a shoe in the
dust It was never worn The rich man lost
his lust
Just a leaf in the
water It was deposed
forever The gardener would
never wonder
Just a gun in the
hand Fired at his heart His wife
performing her daily errand
Just a zebra on a
highway It was never
crossed The wandering deer
lost its way
Just a clown in
the circus Fell off his wheel The dumb child
would never discuss
Just a rose in the
sun The petals were
burnt The lovers were
having fun. © 2012 Aishwarya SubramanianReviews

I am a bit of a perfectionist. I toss away poems that are not good enough in my eyes. Lets101 Quizzes - O.. more..Writing
