wasted: mission failed

wasted: mission failed

A Poem by schanzilla

not waiting for answers

it's a cold beer away from okay

a diamond lined with malfunction, i

left here the smaller half of a wishbone larger

and all my half thunk thoughts

go questing for ghosts on a rumor they heard

down the cracked sidewalks of my irreverent asides

she's high on the Red Bull and seeking out truth

well, i fancied better relevance

the snapped rubber band attack, remember to tip the ambulance driver

seen the cracked limbs through and through

them lazy bones dangle like the rest of her keys

her ignition screams Go, go, go!

earlier in the day it played out as a prank

right up until my long walk to unclutter myself

east makes the most sense

saviors come knocking politely

all ages admitted to the crucifixion

catch a hitch in the throat

omit that last part

like maybe

voices carry erratically across lakes

in the softened center we

never lacked a lullaby

she said she might not miss me

got that new balcony in the city

and all my friends have grown up...
