quiet moments that mean nothing and last forever

quiet moments that mean nothing and last forever

A Poem by schanzilla

surprised by my eyes and their opening

to find nothing amiss, nothing astray

her entire warmth now dissipated

like a lingering glance back

right here, she's somewhere

where impulses get severed in harsh streams

translucent to transparent takes time

slow minutes reminisce then quit and look for cigarettes

let the vanishing happen

all inspired less suspended

broken me inside the window

he's got a hint of a smile

the small satisfaction of knowing something i don't

let him have his secrets

soon it all becomes a low background hum against SportsCenter

under a petulant sunrise i'm the only one still existing
