first one to die, loses

first one to die, loses

A Poem by schanzilla

with a languid smirk, a lonely pen

i build a battlefield

bang bang, someone's dead

and the corpse lies freeformed

in meadows of lilies and marigolds

while insomnia whispers

seconds lead riots singularly

chucking rocks through the windows

of my thought process

my muse never mentioned

makes awkward conversation

paces nervously in the deep gray

flicks its lighter for something to do

mumbles curse words and concentrates

whether i'm lost in Liberty City

or denounced in the day to day

like flotsam in fuzzy crocodile slippers

like the girls in the hip hop music videos

still i knock 'em out the box, Rick

     (knock 'em out, Rick)

when faceless frustration falls flat

sprawled fractured on floorboards

my angel and devil dropped clear off the shoulders

spoonfed "everything's cool" all the way down

and i smile mischevious while they swallow

my life story reads like a suicide note

it's some bad juju, man

As Christie said this poem is so raw and mesmerizing! Very good! :)
Keep up the good work! :D

I found it more lyrics of a song, which one might argue is the deepest of poetry in motion. Grave imagery at times but satisfying, a well rounded piece.

as always, your descriptions are so raw and mesmerizing. Your work always reads so fast and yet lyrical.
I also like that I have to read through at least twice on everything you post.
