like Romeo and what's-her-name

like Romeo and what's-her-name

A Poem by schanzilla

heard her friends when they argued against me

kept my soul unknown so i'd be classified empty

and there was word after word but none categorized me

sing along to the instrumental

played her game without paying attention

deformed sentence structures till it became an addiction

still the little wave walks while the tsunami wishes

better days in a better haze

she killed me seventy seven times

with a backwards beat and garage sale rhymes

lines and lines and lines and lines

scribbled little works of art, i start

to stare and then i'm staring for indeterminate lengths of time

mesmerized by her eyes

the better dialogue unscripted

her slow saunter down to the corner store

a whole world to explore

pause at the stoplight

and all she sees is a universe impervious

a sunset so harmonic

chitchat, sounds from traffic and i'm

looking wayward and beat up

Colossus feeling miniscule

now we're antiheroes

like Aqua Teens

our best intentions gone all conflict of interest

in the indelible swirl of the ever and ever

and were we ever together enough?
