my last cigarette before i kill you

my last cigarette before i kill you

A Poem by schanzilla

stretchin' time like the long day burnin'

your ash rescinded like peelin' paint when i ask about it

pick my broken heart up off

the linoleum, dusty and rollin' inward at the edges

stitch it back together with coaxial cable

pumps again and gets a hundred twenty five channels

yeah, that love thing is a homeless b*****d

acne scarred and all surgical implantation

rip the woes from the ventricles like a Saturday rhyme

lone suture in flesh tones

you sing your songs in a sorrowful voice

like angel wings sweep the ground

it gets caught in my throat when i look to you

always maybe tomorrow like a discount amputation

lightweight autumn

never much flexed its muscle

and in the end we were just a little bit older

and a little farther apart on the inside

i'm at peace with all of it

Yeah... I'm with Yo Diggity on this. Interpreting poetry never goes well for me. But your word choices and overall flow are hypnotic. And the lines that were clear for me were stellar. Sorry, i guess it shows i'm a novice. But great write! :)
