A Poem by schanzilla

beats bleeding stupidly from a right hook

no sale

her last corrective

her fingers crossed promise

straight like mentalist met aluminum foil helmet

i'd give three days

for her to look my way

but i can't be anything she wants to see

slumped on the bridge of the Heart of Gold

improbability doesn't mean she'll mention

wouldn't quote me on the misdemeanors

she carries her like a leaf floating down to earth

i smile like twig snapped underfoot

melt me in

i'd love conformity

but it breaks amazed, crack gingerly

my pretty boy ineffective

belligerence always snags the stare

Author's Note

schanzilla
having posted on other sites previous to here, sooner or later i am always asked to explain myself. since i cannot possibly do that in this case i shall tell you a story instead. once, i was sitting at the bar and then (scene missing) and then i woke up the next afternoon with this scribbled on the notepad next to my head (also a plate of pizza crusts, like, a ridiculous amount). it was titled and all leading me to believe that sometime after i wrote it and before i passed out i read it and was thoroughly confused.
