Twilight

Inspired by the view of the sunset through the windows of NB 203. Written during Disturbances in Metabolism class (4-8 PM! Geez.)

 

The lapse of daylight…

            I watched it fade.

The hues of gold and aubergine dispersed with the falling of the veil of shadow.

The trees, their silhouette �" I begin to fear them.

The silence, its haunting sound �" I am afraid.

 

A distant figure…

            I saw you coming.

The fireflies in your brown eyes �" they enthralled me.

The warmth of your presence �" it gave me reason to fear no more.

Your power, your strength �" No, I am not afraid of you, creature of the Night.

I am yours.

I LOVE the last line. "creature of the night.. I am yours". How enthralling! The concept of total submissiveness to the unknown... to the darkness that either leads to the light in the end or destruction... :)
