Forbidden Sky

Forbidden Sky

A Poem by Maxinne Marie
"

Memoirs of the flightless angel.

"

I lie on my field of dreams

Watching the black heavens

Where Diana smiles at me mockingly

I envy the stars that laugh forever

They encircle the dome from whence I came

It's as if I am desperately trying to reach

The sky from which I was forbidden

Since the day I gave up my wings

For an earthly love

It reminds me of Wim Wenders "Wings of Desire."
If you haven't seen it, go out and rent it immediately!

I enjoyed it. It was kinda weird though, Maybe talking about someone dying? or someone who is dead. I like this though. Keeps me gueesing, even if im like soooo far off. Oh well....good job.

This is nice work, Maxinne. You convey pictures well, helping us to get into the mind of the fallen angel.

I hope you don't mind if I show you a few ways to tighten this poem up (I can't help it!)

"I lie on a field of dreams
Watching the black heavens
Where Diana smiles mockingly

I envy stars that laugh forever
Encircling the dome from whence I came

I am so desperately trying to reach
The sky from which I was forbidden
Since the day I lost my wings
For an earthly love."

I hope this helps you. I wish I could write poetry as beautiful. Good luck, Maxinne.
