Forbidden Sky

Forbidden Sky

A Poem by Maxinne Marie
"

Memoirs of the flightless angel.

"

I lie on my field of dreams

Watching the black heavens

Where Diana smiles at me mockingly

I envy the stars that laugh forever

They encircle the dome from whence I came

It's as if I am desperately trying to reach

The sky from which I was forbidden

Since the day I gave up my wings

For an earthly love

You're thinking too much! Or at least thats how I feel. It's good! Don't get me wrong. But (it may just be me) I don't feel myselft getting lost in your words. I feel like their just passing me by. They don't reach out and choke me, like they should. Evole (spell check) more. Just Write.

I fear the temptation is too great that we often feel as though we must give up our wings for earthly pleasures.
Even so, you mustn't regret the thing you once desired most...
Nicely penned.

interesting. a new slant on an age old story of immortals giving up immortality for love.
Well presented in poetic prose

This is both delicate and haunting. I like the use of "Diana", and the union of the heavens and the earth through the poems narrator. Beautifully done.

Diana being the ancient god?
I like the idea of the angel becoming mortal again, and all for love. Not something I think I would do, but the concept is a good one. I can just see you lying in a field (or simply on the grass) with all this going through your head.

Poetically pleasing.
