Let's pretend

Let's pretend

A Poem by revolution_starter

Today who am i?
Today who are you?
I said let's pretend to be vikings
We can conquer, explore, and rebuild
But that's not who we are
I said let's pretend to be kings
We rule. protect, and make new laws
But that's not who we are
I said let's pretend to be warriors
We fight, defend, and protect the good
But this is not who we are
No matter who you find yourself to be
Whether warrior, viking, or king
The one in you is your uttermost being
And not the one who the world sees.

I see the God link but as a sceptic, I also see the inner mind....This really IS a fine poem..I love the way that it is set out....full of innocence but with a deep message...Well written

This is a really good poem! I enjoyed reading it...and as a person who doesn't like to write or read poetry, that's a HUGE compliment. I like everything about this peice...although I would capitalize the 'i' at the beggining :).
I do have a question, though. Is this poem talking about God and his spirit inside of us...or is it talking about our own souls and beings? I'm just wondering.
Great poem, though. Keep up the great work!!
